5/6/2019 - Stated Meeting
The next Stated Meeting of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at The Princeton Club of New York City, which is located at 15 West 43 Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Cocktails will be served at 6:15 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The reception, dinner and meeting venues are all located on the second floor of the Club.
Our speaker for the evening will be Peter Quinn, who previously served as Chief Speechwriter to Governors Hugh Carey and Mario Cuomo, and is the author of several books including: Banished Children of Eve, Looking for Jimmy: In Search of Irish America, Hour of the Cat, The Man Who Never Returned, and Dry Bones. He received the 2015 NYU Glucksman Ireland House’s Seamus Heaney Award for Arts & Letters, and the Irish American Cultural Institute honored him with its 2016 Annie Moore Award.
Members are required to show membership cards to Stewards posted at our second floor meeting room. Any member who does not have a current membership card can pay his annual dues at the door and receive a new membership card. Jacket and tie are required. As always, guests are welcome at the May meeting and the fee per guest is $50. This night is a great recruiting opportunity in the more relaxed climate of a quarterly dinner, so please bring along a guest.
