The Society ofThe Friendly Sons of St. Patrickin The City of New York

Founded in 1784 by Irishmen who came together to provide assistance and support to their fellow countrymen in the adjustment to life in the new world, The Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York is the oldest charitable institution in the city. We carry on the traditions of our founders by focusing our charitable efforts in three areas within the City of New York: education, Irish Arts & Culture, and, in keeping with our origins, legal immigration services. The Society holds several events throughout the year for the purposes of charitable fundraising and social engagement amongst our membership.

Approximately one hundred and fifty supporters and guests gathered at a private club in New York City on Wednesday, October 16 for the third Annual Luncheon of the Women's Committee of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York. The Society is one of the oldest charitable organizations in New York State. It embraces its historical mission by focusing its charitable efforts on primary and secondary education, Irish arts and culture, and legal immigration assistance. Proceeds from this luncheon support the Friendly Sons Scholars Program which is administered in partnership with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. Well another year is passing and we are fast approaching the holidays. A time of year when we are given the opportunity to spend time with family and to be thankful.

In that spirit, I hope we can gather, enjoy each other's company, be "friendly" and enjoy some excellent Irish entertainment at the next stated meeting of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York which will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the New York Athletic Club, located at 180 Central Park South. Members are welcome to bring guests to this meeting; the guest fee is $150.

The reception will run from 6pm until 8.30pm and business attire is required. We will enjoy several carving stations and open bar service throughout the event. We are delighted to announce that the talented musician Cillian Vallely, along with other musicians will join us for a fun ensemble of festive Irish/holiday music. Tables will be set and we encourage members and guests to visit the carving stations and sit so we can enjoy the entertainment.
