• October 29th 2024 - The Women's Committee Luncheon in support of our Scholarship Program

  Approximately one hundred and fifty supporters and guests gathered at a private club in New York City on Wednesday, October 16 for the third Annual Luncheon of the Women's Committee of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York. The Society is one of the oldest charitable organizations in New York State. It embraces its historical mission by focusing its charitable efforts on primary and secondary education, Irish arts and culture, and legal immigration assistance.
  
  Proceeds from this luncheon support the Friendly Sons Scholars Program which is administered in partnership with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. Guests enjoyed an entertaining talk by Jamie MacGuire, author of Real Lace Revisited: Inside the Hidden World of America's Irish Aristocracy. Gifts and a benefactor prize were kindly donated by Asprey of London. Very Reverend Enrique Salvo, Rector of St. Patrick's Cathedral, offered the opening prayer.

  Almost 600 members and guests of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in The City of New York gathered recently for the Society's 240th Anniversary Dinner, held at Cipriani 42nd Street.

  Approximately one hundred seventy supporters and guests gathered at a private club in New York City on Wednesday, October 18, for the second Annual Luncheon of The Women's Committee of The Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York. Founded in 1784, The Society is one of the oldest charitable organizations in New York State. The Society embraces its historical mission by focusing its charitable efforts on primary and secondary education, Irish arts and culture, and legal immigration assistance. Proceeds from the luncheon support the Friendly Sons Scholars Program, which is administered in partnership with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. Guests enjoyed an entertaining presentation by Robert O’Byrne, The Irish Aesthete as well as gifts and a benefactor prize kindly donated by Asprey London. Very Reverend Enrique Salvo, Rector of St. Patricks Cathedral, offered the opening prayer

  Over 500 members and guests attended the 239th Anniversary dinner of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in The City of New York at Cipriani 42nd Street.

• October 19th 2022 - The Women's Committee of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the City of New York hosts their Inaugural Luncheon

  Approximately one hundred fifty supporters and guests gathered at a private club in New York City on Wednesday, October 19, for the Inaugural Luncheon of The Women's Committee of The Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the City of New York. This is the first women's event for the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Proceeds from the luncheon will support the Friendly Sons Scholars Program, this program is administered by the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. Guest enjoyed an entertaining presentation by Bonnie Brennan, President, Christie's America. Very Reverend Enrique Salvo, Rector of St. Patricks Cathedral said the opening prayer.

  After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, over 600 members and guests attended the 238th Anniversary dinner of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in The City of New York on Wednesday evening at Cipriani 42nd St.

  Over one hundred sixty members and guests of The Society of The Friendly Sons in the City of New York gathered on Tuesday, November 30th, for a Christmas reception at the New York Athletic Club.

  The Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York, the oldest charitable institution in New York City, is pleased to announce that the membership of the Society has voted to amend its by-laws in order to permit women to apply for membership.
